You’ve gone fast asleep,
And with your eyes closed
A watch you can’t keep
On a government that’s taking you
Down the wrong road,
All of your old values
It will slowly erode.
Wake Up America!
Before it’s too late,
Your government agencies
You must regulate,
The NSA
Is now out of control,
Denying you your privacy
Was never its role.
Wake up America!
It’s still not too late,
Curtail the EPA,
Their powers confiscate;
They’ve become environmental Nazis,
They’ve become a disgrace,
This Enemy of the People Agency
Needs to be put in its place.
Wake up America!
Why so keen to placate?
Invasive political correctness,
Why do you tolerate?
Regain your free speech,
It’s your basic right;
Welcome in a new day,
Spurn the dark liberal night.
Wake up America!
Obama’s a liability
His social change programme
Removes personal responsibility,
You must reverse the damage
That this president has done,
Regain your lost freedoms,
Take them back, one by one.
Wake up America!
To Obama’s ranting and raving,
By killing your growth
He thinks the world he’ll be saving,
A leader of a new religion,
Of a global warming hoax;
Why are his lies still believed
By so many folks?
Wake up America!
Defend your constitution
Don’t allow Obama
To pursue his left wing revolution;
A government of the people?
It seems he’s forgotten,
In the White House in DC
Something smells rotten!
Wake up America!
It really will be too late,
Your apathy will kill you,
Indifference seal your fate;
Once the land of the free,
But while you all slept,
Out of the door
Your liberty has crept.
